End of summer poem for the Poetry Dance challenge.  This is just for fun, mind you.  I just logged on and haven't even thought of anything yet, so give me a moment.....

Ok....

Summer's sun kissed cheeks

Fading to a milky glow

Moon shadows dance on trees

And silently waits for snow

Scented candles fill my breath

The lonely beaches mourn

For little feet to scatter 'round

For flowers to be born

Beautiful colors floating down

To waiting cherub hands

Summer's over it is true

But autumn has it's plans

haven't thought of anything? Well, then you need to just let that sporadic mood hit you more often! I loved this. It was divine reading.
Plus, I might mention, I love that you put your picture in your journal!!!

I agree with Rebecca ...not only is the poem lovely and full of the imagery I adore...seeing you there makes it come alive....I love this poem having spent countless summers daily at the beach with my four children...I am glad you joined the Poetry Dance

This is very whimsical.  Very sing-song and not over the top at the same time.  I enjoyed it.  Kudos!
I especially like the bit about the beaches and the last line is superb.

I can't believe this was a "spur of the moment poem"  GREAT JOB!!  It is very descriptive in a relaxing way.. just right!!!  I haven't written a poem since high school either.
