It's Not Easy Being Green

In my quest for all things green, I came upon some pretty interesting subjects ~ even if I did only manage to look and shoot all in one place.  I had a bit of a time, trying to choose what image to post for the "Wearing of the Green" Challenge.  Not that I thought they all came out so great, but because I found flaws in each one that drove me completely nuts.  I took dozens upon dozens of photos and deleted about 75% of them.  The ones that I was left with were just "off" in places.  I'm finding blurry "spots" in almost all my images.  There seems to be areas that are very sharp and areas that soften or melt into the image.  Perhaps there is some underlying reason for this, and if any of you experts can think of anything, I'd love some advice.  Please feel free to email any ideas or thoughts you might have.  It may be as simple as how I hold the camera, but I've always been pretty good about that...  Who knows?  :o/

I would like to introduce a few more of the "green" friends I made during my trip to the pet store.  I liked these shots, even with their blurry spots and flaws!  These creatures have some great personalities, and I really enjoyed my visit with them.  I hope they will find good homes soon.

Thank you for all your kind and encouraging words regarding my photos and my journal!  HUGS TO ALL!!!  ;o)

These are are wonderful shots, Chelle.  Very cute title for this entry. You really captured some cute shots....definitely found GREEN!
As for the blurriness, check the lens to make sure it is clean & no smudges & also the shutterspeed might be too slow.

I love all of these! They're all beautiful! I sure don't see any blurry spots on any of them (or is it just because I'm old and won't go get my eyes checked even though I know I need glasses? LOL).
Hugs, Martha :-)

The soft spots are more than likely due to a limited depth of field and areas that are out of the plane of focus will blur.  There is one picture you posted where the foot is moving a little with will cause motion blur.  Another possibility is that there is something on the lens, either a smudge or piece of dust.  Either will blur areas of the picture.  Feel free to send me a picture where this problem is occurring and either circle on the image, or tell me where the spots are.  I should be able to figure out what is going on.

Oh, I know these feelings pretty well.  I often delete about 1/2 of what I shoot.   That's the way of digital...
I know how hard you are on yourself, chelle...but these are great!  I love the idea that you took your camera into a pet store and shot away.  (I got reprimanded once for taking a photo of a puppy in the store)    : (
Anyway, my faves here are the lovey dovey birds.  Too sweet!
Love you bunches,

Good Morning,

Am glad you were able to return.  I have a link to your site, and had been
checking; but must have stopped last Saturday.  Was here twice yesterday.
All day Tuesday Springfield had wind and rain and scattered thunderstorms.

You definitely are more technology savvy than I am, which is one of the
reasons I enjoy visiting (((Reflections))) -- locus of the ripplings out,
the radio waves, the giving spirit.  And green is such a soothing color.

This was sheer artistic genius, both in the concept and the execution :)  What a great twist on the whole "green" idea!

You got some great shots of some great new little friends, and your entry was terrific.
